The world of online Kung Fu can be hit or miss. Some programs market flashy modern wushu forms under the banner of tradition, while true masters in Hong Kong and Taiwan struggle to find committed students.
 
Many online classes are cookie-cutter — passive learning from videos, zero guidance and interaction with the teacher, and no real depth.
 
Students often walk away unsatisfied, still thirsting for authentic knowledge, yet also for the methods and approach of the modern day.

My mission is to change that.

After dedicating 25 years to martial artis, close to a decade to learning under the renowned master Wong Chung Man personally in Hong Kong, becoming both a Hong Kong and World Champion, earning a PhD in Sports Psychology, and turning professional in Muay Thai and MMA, I now share my knowledge and passion with students around the world.

How It Works

Kung Fu Scholars is a structured, progressive training program designed to fit into your life while delivering real results. Each week, you receive new materials, personalized feedback, and guidance to help you train effectively—wherever you are.

Online Kung Fu Program Delivery

  • Pre-recorded sessions are sent every Monday, so you can train at your own pace.

  • Personalized attention and feedback—submit your training videos and receive detailed visual breakdowns, corrections, and voice-guided analysis. Receive targeted exercises or help if needed.

  • Live support via monthly 1-on-1 calls and unlimited messaging to keep you on track.

  • An emphasis on connection - stay in touch, be accountable, share, and chat with the coach frequently.

Level 1 Program (3 Months)

  • 24 training sessions

  • 3 mobility routines

  • 24 short strength & conditioning + prehab sessions

  • 12 theory & mindset lessons

  • A complete Kung Fu form video for Level 1

  • Detailed video & written breakdowns of all techniques

What You’ll Learn in the Online Hung Gar Kung Fu Program

The program is built around a unique Kung Fu training structure:

  1. Technical training – Learn, refine, and apply techniques in both Kung Fu stances and a fight guard.

  2. Kung Fu form training – Never just repetition. Each session has focused drills, catch-up lessons, and clear practice instructions.

  3. Exercise block – Modern training tools like resistance bands, phone apps, and objects to improve alignment and technique in a way you won’t find anywhere else.

Besides kung fu training, you will also receive fitness training (strength, conditioning, mobility, and rehabilitation) and theoretical lessons on kung fu terms, culture, stories, and mental tools.​

Flexible & Effective Training

  • Sessions range from 40 to 90 minutes, depending on how much you do in each session.

  • Train twice per week for the full experience, or once per week for a lighter approach.

  • Suitable for beginners and experienced martial artists alike—whether you want to stay fit in an engaging way, improve longevity and health, or add another style to your training.

Program Options

  • Complete Coaching Program

The full experience: 2 training sessions per week, regular video feedback, live calls, and unlimited support. This path keeps your progress steady and balanced, with everything you need to move through Level 1 in 3 months.

  • Slower Track

A lighter version of the program, with 1 training session per week and 1 video feedback exchange per week. Progress is at half-speed, so Level 1 takes 6 months to complete.

Structure

A Clear, Structured Path to Mastery

The Kung Fu Scholars online program follows a unique curriculum designed for real progress. Instead of overwhelming you with countless techniques, each level focuses on key movements, ensuring you truly understand and apply them before moving forward.

  • Progressive Levels & Stripes – Your training is divided into structured levels, each marked by a stripe. Early levels focus on foundational techniques, while advanced levels introduce weapons and deeper understanding.

  • Smart Skill Development – Example: You’ll learn all stances early, but each level emphasizes specific ones to refine and apply them effectively. This method builds a strong base without unnecessary overload.

  • Weapons Training – Starting at the blue stripe level, you’ll be introduced to traditional weapons like the stick and broadsword, integrating them into your skillset.

  • Earn Your Stripes – Upon completing a level, you’ll submit your training videos, demonstrating what you’ve learned. You’ll then be awarded your next stripe and receive a certificate marking your progress.

This structured approach ensures steady improvement while keeping training engaging and practical.

Structure

The Curriculum

Kung Fu Scholars follow a unique curriculum you won't find elsewhere. Commonly, kung fu is taught based on forms, and often the forms are the only material being taught. In Kung Fu Scholars classes, there is much more and students understand that forms are only one - even though a very important - teaching pillar of the system. Inspired by other disciplines that I have trained in - Brazilian jiu-jitsu, karate - I have created a complex curriculum introducing the system step by step, with real teaching methods and goals, not just repeating forms.

isn’t about brute force — it’s about unlocking deep, inner strength and revitalizing the body from within. These time-honored techniques help rebuild deep tissue strength while improving flexibility, promoting long-term health and vitality.

Hung Gar Kung Fu

is more than a martial art—it is a philosophy deeply rooted in discipline, respect, and perseverance. It incorporates firm, powerful stances, strategic techniques, and a connection to the five animals (Tiger, Crane, Leopard, Snake, and Dragon) and five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). These principles guide both combat and personal growth.
